Abstract :

ABSTRACT   The hospital was a health care institution that organize  the complete individual health care that provides inpatient care, outpatient and emergency room (ER). One of the problems that exist in ER Ibnu Sina Hospital Gresik now was the high number of false cases of emergency, it was feared could affect the quality of emergency care in the ER. The purpose of this study was measure the performance of the emergency room team with MBNQA to increase the quality of service in case of emergency in ER Ibnu Sina Hospital Gresik.  This study  used a descriptive quantitative  research methods. Data analysis  using  descriptive statistics. The results  consists of seven parts: the calculation  of ER team  performance by using  the seven criteria of Malcolm Baldridge  National Quality Award. Based on these results,  it’s recommended to the ER team to improve  the quality of emergency care in ER Ibnu Sina Hospital Gresik. Recommendations for Ibnu Sina Hospital Gresik is to provide an opportunity to the ER’s staff with a good performance in order to continue their education to the higher level and made special policies to open department outpatient after hours to reduce the number of false emergency. To the other researchers are recommend that further research be  done on the relationship  between one and other criteria in the Malcolm Baldrige.   Keywords: Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, Emergency Room
