Abstract :
Herbal remedies are prescribed for the treatment of various liver diseases including for Hepatoprotector purpose. The present study was aimed to investigate and to know the hepatoprotective activity of Curcuma zedoaria extract combined with Morinda citrifolia extract against carbon tetra chloride (CCl4) induced hepatotoxicity in rats. Liver functions were assessed by the determination of SGOT, SGPT, ALP, and bilirubin. The results of serum analysis suggest that the use of Curcuma zedoaria extract combined with Morinda citrifolia extract exhibited significant protective effect related to the hepatic damage in CCl4 induced hepatotoxicity model and further evidence of its hepatoprotective activity. Obat herbal telah banyak diberikan untuk pengobatan berbagai macam penyakit hati termasuk sebagai hepatoprotektor. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menyelidiki khasiat dan mengetahui aktivitas hepatoprotektif gabungan sari kunyit putih/temulawak (Curcuma zedoaria) dan buah mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia) terhadap hepatotoksisitas tikus yang diimbas dengan karbontetraklorida. Fungsi hati diukur berdasarkan penentuan level SGOT, SGPT, ALP dan bilirubin. Hasil analisis serum membuktikan bahwa gabungan sari kunyit putih dan buah mengkudu menunjukkan ada pengaruh melindungi yang berarti dari kerusakan hati dalam model hepatotoksisitas yang diimbas dengan CCl4 dan selanjutnya membuktikan bahwa gabungan sari tersebut memiliki aktivitas hepatoprotektif.
