Abstract :

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) belongs to the group of metabolic diseases. The long-term complications of diabetes such as: diabetic retinopathy, neuropathy, and nephropathy, can be prevented or reduced by controlling the blood glucose levels. Impaired glucose tolerance, hypertension and dyslipidemia can decrease the disappearance from proximal tubules resulting in an increase in serum uric acid. The aim of the study to know the ratio of uric acid urine/serum in DMT2 with controls. This research study used a cross sectional study was and conducted on 35 samples of type 2 diabetes mellitus and 35 control samples of In- and Out-patient Clinics at the Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital, Makassar. The blood glucose, uric acid levels and urine uric acid were examined by ABX Pentra 400 (colorimetric method). The number of DMT2 male patients was higher than females. Most of their age were between 50−54 years. The ratio of the urinary levels of urine/serum UA was positively correlated to: age, sex, urine UA in DMT2 and control. Their data were analyzed with unpaired t test (p = 0.00). This research showed that the ratio of urine/serum UA in DMT2 was 1.5 times than the controls. The results of this study showed an increase in the ratio of urinary levels of serum uric acid as 1.5 times higher than the controls. Diabetes Melitus (DM) adalah kelompok penyakit terkait metabolik tertentu. Komplikasi diabetes jangka panjang, seperti penyakit: retinopati diabetik, saraf dan ginjal, dapat dicegah atau diperlambat dengan mengendalikan kadar glukosa darah. Gangguan: toleransi glukosa, hipertensi dan dislipidemia dapat menurunkan penghilangan Asam Urat (AU) di tubulus proksimal ginjal, sehingga berakibat peningkatan serum asam urat. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui angka banding kadar AU air kemih/serumnya di DMT2 dan menentukannya dengan pembanding. Penelitian dilakukan secara potong silang terhadap 35 sampel DMT2 dan dengan jumlah yang sama pembanding terkait mereka yang dirawat inap dan jalan di RS dr Wahidin Sudirohusodo Makassar, pada bulan Mei−Juni 2012. Kadar glukosa darah dan asam uratnya diperiksa, begitu pula asam urat air kemih, menggunakan alat ABX Pentra 400 (metode kolorimetrik). Pasien DMT2 laki-laki lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan yang perempuan, dan usia terbanyak antara 50−54 tahun. Angka banding kadar AU air kemih/serumnya bernasab positif pada umur, di: jenis kelamin, AU air kemih DMT2 maupun pembanding. Data dianalisis dengan uji t tidak berpasangan (p = 0,00). Pada penelitian didapatkan angka banding AU air kemih/serumnya 1,5 kali di DMT2 dibandingkan dengan pembanding. Angka banding kadar asam urat air kemih/serumnya di DMT2 1,5 kali lebih tinggi daripada pembanding.
