Abstract :

Background: In a disaster or criminal case, comprehensive information has a mutual dependence for identification process of each victim. Especially for some cases that only leave skull without any information that could help the identification process, including face reconstruction that will be needed. One in many ways that could help identification includes specific face characteristic, race, some head-neck measurements, such as whole morphology facial index, interincisal angle and facial height. Purpose: This research was done to find out some possibility of correlation that exist amongs some head-neck measurements through lateral cephalometric and whole morphology facial index in the hope of adding more information into identification process. Research’s population focused on single sub race dominant in Indonesia, Deutro-Malayid. Results:There was a significant correlation between whole morphology facial index and facial height cephalometrically, while there was no significant correlation between whole morphology facial index and interincisal angle. Conclusion:  Lateral cephalometric measurements,  facial height, can supply some additional information during identification process, especially for face reconstruction.
