The prevalence of dental malocclusion of patient with adenotonsilitis obstruction at tht departement of rsud dr. soetomo surabaya

      Abstract :

      The aim of this study is to know the prevalence of malocclusion 37 out of 44 person having adenotonsilitis with obstruction were used as sample. The malocclusion was assessed from the study model. From the observation it was found 73% (27 person) had malocclusion and 27% (10 person) had normal occlusion. Class I Angle malocclusion was 59,45%, class II division was 18.11%, class II/2 and Class III were 2.7% (1 person). The characteristics of the irregularity are protrusion, deep overbite, open bite, increase overjet, crowding and multiple diastema. From the data collected, the face characteristic (adenoid face) were not found are well as the posterior cross bite through the observation of the study model. This may be due to the short observation period (3 months) and the sample is small.
