Abstract :

 The  empirical  validations  of  relationship  between  emotional  intelligence  and  psychological  well-being  remained  inconsistent,  particularly  among  older  adults.  This  research  was  intended  to examine  the  relationship  between  the  emotional  intelligence  and  psychological  well-being among elderly people in Jakarta. A  sample of 72 elderly men and women of religion-based group completed a set of questionnaires on demographic factors and psychological measurement of emotional  intelligence  and  psychological  well-being.  These results  support  previous  studies  that found  positive  and  significant  association  between  two  variable  and  several  demographic  factors related.  The discussion focuses  on f inding  and limitations of this research for  implication and in the  light  of  theoretical  and  methodological  consideration  for  further  research.
