Abstract :

This study aimed to examine the effect of self-esteem towards students Prosocial Behaviors. The Prosocial Behavior and Self-Esteem scale were used for the data collection method. Research subjects were students of SMAK Frateran Malang. The sample amounted to 91 students. As for the data analysis, single-predictor regression analysis were used, with an F reg result of 13.1459 and an F table result of 1% = 6.96. It meant that Self-Esteem has a very significant effect on the Prosocial Behavior of SMAK Frateran Malang students. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Determinant coefficient (R2) = 0.128697, it meant that Self-Esteem variable in this study affect prosocial behavior amounted to 12.9% while the rest may be influenced by other factors, such as personality characteristics of achievement-oriented, assertive, trying hard to competent, expressive of positive feelings, sociability and gregarious, empathy, internal locus of control, and perhaps caused of situational factors faced by bystanders.
