Abstract :

Grouper fish is one commodity that has high economic value, so that the market demand of goruper’s breed especially Humpback grouper (C.altivelis) for enlargement attempt is decreasing year to year. The availability of Humpback grouper’s qualified breed and its uniform size and sustainabilityof it is one of the parameter of its mouse grouper nursering attempt. The goal of this Field Work Practice is to gain knowledge, experience and skill and understand the technique, obstacles and the prospect of mouse grouper nursering attempt.             This Field Work Practice was held in BrackishWater Aquaculture Association(BPAP)Situbondo, Pecaron Village, Kendit District, Situbondo Region, East Java Province in January 14th until February 14th 2013. The method which was used in this Field Work Practice was descriptive method by data collection inlcuded primary data and secondary data. Data collection was undertaken by active participation, observation, interview and literature learning.             This Humpback grouper nursering attempt belongs to the institute of Brackish Water Aquaculture Association (BPAP) Situbondo . The water source gained directly from sea water comes from Madura Strait by using submersible pump. Whereas water quality which was measured were temperature 30-310C, salinity 32-34, pH 7,9-8,2, nitrit 0,013-0,019 mg/l and ammonia 0,001 mg/l, dissolved oxigen (DO) 4,67-5,64 mg/l. Nursery was started from mouse grouper breed in size of 3 cm or D90 until the size was ready to be placed in KJA (10 cm). The breed in size of nursering were reared in  concretetank with the density of breed was 500-600 breeds / m3. Feed given in this nursery is artficial pellets made from factory. Every 1-2 weeks, grading was undertaken. Grading was undertaken to make the similarity of breed size to decrease competition in gaining the feed. Non-infectious disease which attacked mouse grouper nursering was malnutrition, it can be seen from the abnormal body structure. The survival rate during the breed rearing with the size of 10 cm was 75 %. Marketing of this Humpback grouper nursering production based on the demand of consumer or by ordering were BEP of production 28.871 breed whereas BEP of price occured about Rp . 5.346,-, R/C for about 1,87, Payback Period (PP) 0,58 year and Cash flow about Rp 236.620.000,-.
