Abstract :

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still a public health problem in Indonesia. Tends to increase in dengue cases eachyear. The participation of the community is essential vector surveyor with the duties and responsibilities they have to takeprecautionary action, motivate, and conduct outreach to families and communities so that people avoid dengue disease.This study aimed to identify the role of the surveyor larvae in reducing the density of vector mosquito Aedes larvae in theBluru Kidul village, Sidoarjo. Research design used in this study is descriptive. Subjects were 24 surveyor larvae whoresides and works in the village area Bluru Kidul. The results showed that the majority of the role of surveyors larvae byPJB was good (95.8%), based larvaciding included in the category of fairly good (83.3%), based on the extension includedin both categories (95.8%), and by recording and reporting included in both categories (100.0%). Conclusions obtainedare vector surveyor role in reducing the density of Aedes larvae was pretty good. Support from various sectors is neededto continue to improve the performance of surveyors larvae.
