Dukungan informasi tentang menstruasi kepada anak usia sekolah dasar

Abstract :

Menarche was an indicator of the start of puberty. Age at menarche seemed to be decreasing nowadays. Many elementary school student had experienced their menarche. This earlier menarche made elementary school student were less preparation, therefore, it could cause negative responses at menarche and poor menstrual hygiene. Support of information was needed to make well prepared for menarche. This study aimed to analyze between some variables with support of information in while elementary school students experiencing their first period in Kampung Dalem 3,4,5,6 Public Elementary School, Kediri. This research design was cross sectional with population elementary school students of grade IV, V, VI who experienced their menarche on February, March, April 2015. The amount of respondent, which were 25. The variables were parents’ education level, parents’ occupation status, older sister, support of information. Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation and Phi correlation. The result showed that there were correlation between fathers’ education level with support of information (ρ= 0,044), mother’s education level with support of information (ρ=0,210), fathers’ occupation status with support of information (ρ= 0,230), mothers’ occupation level with support information (ρ= 0,263), older sister with support of information (ρ= 0,165). Conclusion of research were that parents’ education level, parents’ occupation status, older sister correlated with support of information.
