Antibacterial activity of phyllanthus niruri l extract as substitute alternative flumequin antibiotic to e. coli on broiler

Abstract :
Alkaloid, saponin dan tanin which are concentrated in the extract of Phyllanthus niruri L are widely known to have antibacterial activity. The aim of this research was to know antibacterial activity of Phyllanthus niruri L extract with flumequin antibiotic to E. coli on broiler by isolation and identification from the sample of hepar tissue. In this research, broiler at the age of twenty eight days were divided into six groups. All groups except control negative group were infected by E. coli dose 106 CFU/ml. Three groups were positive control, negative control, flumequin antibiotic control. The next three groups were extract of Phyllanthus niruri L that were variated in three dosages: 20%, 25% and 30%. The treatment was given one day after infected E. coli. Pengobatan dilakukan sehari setelah diinfeksi E. coli. After five days treatment the broiler was necropted to take the sample of hepar tissue. The data were tested with Chi-Square Test. There was a significant difference of antibacterial activity beetwen control positive group (P0 +), treatment group dose 30% (P 3) and flumequin antibiotic (P Ab). The result showed that antibacterial activity of P3 had the same as with flumequin antibiotic to E. coli. The conclusion was Phyllanthus niruri L extract can be used as substitute alternative antibacterial to E. coli
