Abstract :
This study is aimed to know if there is any correlation between self-esteem and prosocialbehavior-blood donation intention on donors at Unit Donor Darah PMI Surabaya. This studyuses quantitative method with survey design. The instruments used for collecting data are thetranslation of Rosenberg's Self-Esteem Scale (1965) and Prosocial Behavior-Blood DonationIntention Scale that was arranged based on Theory of Planned Behavior (Ajzen, 1991). This studywas conducted on 50 blood donors at Unit Donor Darah PMI Surabaya with age range from 17-65. The data analysis is done by parametric statistical technic; Pearson product-momentcorrelation using SPSS 16.0 for Windows. Based on the result of data analysis, obtained positivecorrelation value between self-esteem and prosocial behavior-blood donation intention that is0,135 with significance by 0,351. These results indicate that there is no significant correlationbetween self-esteem and prosocial behavior-blood donation intention on donor at Unit DonorDarah PMI Surabaya in this study.
