Abstract :

This study aims to describe the role of local government and stakeholders who play a role in improving community sanitation on the success of the Open Defecation Free (ODF) program in Bojonegoro District. This is motivated by one of the important parts in regional development is the environmental sanitation of the community supported by the local government through its policies and budgeting. Likewise, Bojonegoro Regency in supporting community sanitation in the Village Movement Healthy and Smart The first indicator is Open Defecation Free.   The result shows the role of local government in improving community sanitation about the success of the Open Defecation Free (ODF) untill now is really dominant. This was supported by water and sanitation program with 7 aspects of the role of the goverment, that is planning and strategy, advocacy, regulator, and coordinator As well as innovators and facilitators. All of those aspects couldn't run properly without participation of stakeholder and society that also involved in the implementation of ODF. The stakeholder were District Head of Bojonegoro, Development Planning Agency at Sub-National Level, Department of Health, Village Government and Community Development Agency, Department of Public Housing, Settlement Area and Human Settlements, Department of Education, Information and Communication Department, Religious Affairs Office, Sub-district, Village, Health Center at sub-district Level, Family Welfware Movement, Society, and sanitation entrepreneurial that aims to finish the ODF and make it as an enterprise.
