Abstract :

"Information Literacy" is the ability to define, locate, evaluate and communicateinformation to accomplish a specific purpose. Just as for the faculty who is a labor educatorfor her students, which they certainly need a lot of information about the subject area undertheir control, of course, the information literacy skills of the teaching staff is necessary andrequired in all required information searching, for the continuation of learning precise andefficient as well as accurate information and clear.The author will describe how Information Literacy skills of the staff at the high schoolPenagajar RSBI in Surabaya and this study used a quantitative approach to the descriptivetype. Descriptive type chosen by the researcher because the researcher wanted to describehow is the Information Literacy Lecturer RSBI high school in Surabaya, with 55 respondentsjumalah faculty at the school SMAN 15 and SMA Khadijah RSBI Surabaya. The samplingtechnique used was Systemathic random sampling technique.This study assessed based on five stages of the standardization of InformationLiteracy Hasugian.J, which includes determining the nature and extent of the requiredunformasi, accessing information effectively and efficiently, evaluate information and itssources critically in abundance, using the information to complete a particular purpose andunderstand aspects of economists , legal and social issues related to the information.The results of this study showed that the total level of faculty information literacyskills of high school SMAN 15 Khadijah and the average in the category of Medium or highenough, the findings obtained from the sources of information used by the teaching staff isthe Internet, in which case it can be said that the teaching staff are able rmemanfaatkan ICT(Information, Technology and Communications) that exist today to support the learningactivity, especially for all the subjects in which the results of the findings are, indeed allsubjects need and have a high enough evaluation information.
