Abstract :

Ecotourism is an alternative to tourism as it has society's economic empowerment element. That is why it is developed by developing countries like Indonesia. However, there are economic gaps among regions applied ecotourism. It mostly depends on how locals view its economic opportunies. Economic behavior is strongly shaped by individual perception, attitude and willingness that are in return affected by life philosophy, traditional custom, belief and habit (basic factors); education, culture and social structure (supporting factors); mass media, socialization, opinion leadership (intervening factors)
