Abstract :

This article represents results from PMKS study in East Java that focused on the problems of neglected elderly. Conceptually, the elderly is people, who are above 65 years old, which belongs to unproductive age group. Neglected elderly includes unemployment and matters that discourage elderly unemployment. Stages of methodology covered secondary data study, review, and in-depth interview. The purpose of this study is to give ideas and direction to the government policy makers in improving the status of elderly toward empowerment. It is aimed at providing more life expectancy and good image to the elderly through cooperation with stakeholders, so that there would be more integrated strategy.
