Abstract :
The specific objective of this research was to map regional economy potential as a basic capital for regional economic development through regional cooperation. This research was undertaken in five regions integrated in regional cooperation institution well known as Barlingmascakeb consisting of Banjarnegara, Purbalingga, Banyumas, Cilacap, and Kebumen. To achieve a regional economy potential map, this research applied the following three methods: (1) Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift Share Analysis (SSA) to identify excellent sectors in each region; (2) Descriptive Method to describe regional typology and determine a regional hierarchy based on sector grouping in agricultural production, trading, and industry; and (3) Klassen Method to describe growth typology based on regional side in each region. Results of this research showed that there were some differences in regional econony potentials assumed excellent and competitive in each region. Each region also has so different capacity in providing agricultural, trading, and industrial infrastructure that regional growth level and regional hierarchy in each region showed different circumstances.
