Abstract :
Antisocial patients are perhaps the most extensively studied of all those with persoality disorders, but they are also the patients whom clinicians tend to avoid the most. They have been referred to as “psychopaths”, “sociopaths”, and “character disorders” terms that, in psychiatry, have traditionally been equated with being untreatable. The term psychopath has grown again in popularity in recent years as a diagnostic term that implies particular psychodynamic and even biological features that are not captured in the DSM-IV-TR criteria of antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). A comprehensive understanding of ASPD must begin with recognition that biological factors clearly contribute to the etiology and pathogenesis of the disorder. (Gabbard,2000) In practice, ASPD is often linked to criminal behaviour. White collar crime (WCC) is a subtle crime with minimum risk to get caught and even if caught. Unfortunately, most people do not perceive it as serious as crime against other human being such as burglary or rape. (Hare,2000) Can they not be treated? Diagnosis and treatment often become difficult because it is related to the stigma which give significans effect to the patient’s life with ASPD. (Rodrigo, 2010)
