Abstract :
Examination of hair as a specimen used in the method of identifying individual animals has been carrying out as a way of collecting individual animal database. Resistance to decomposition makes the hairbecomes an ideal means of identification. The need of fast, cheap and accurate method for identification isresearch to identify animals in preparation for the case law relating to veterinarians or it called veterinary forensics. In this research has been examined specimens of hair used as morphometric identification of threetypes of dogs that have an impact on dog bite humans cases in Indonesia. In research that has been done is usethree types of dogs as experimental animals, the American Pitbull Terrier, German Shepherd and Doberman. Examination conducted on hair diameter, the diameter of hair medulla, cortex and width ratio of the averagediameter of the hair with hair medulla diameter. Hair that examined three types of dogs comes from the head, neck and tail.In the future, the basis of these measurements can be used in the identification of individuals ofone species in a dog bite case in humans or other cases in relation to veterinary forensics in Indonesia.
