Abstract :

Introduction: The change of sexual activity on menopausal not only be affected by the reduction of reproductive function but also be affected by the lack of information and knowledge related to the impacts of reduction of the reproductive function on the decreasing of the menopausal sexual response. In attempts to improve the knowledge, attitude, and changing of the action related to sexual activity on menopause women can be conducted by providing counseling for the spouse. Method: Design used in this study was quasy experiment. The population were spouse who wife had been menopause, in Mei 2012. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. Twenty four respondents matched with the inclusion criteria and divided into treatment and control groups. Data were collected by using questionnaire and interview sheet to action value. Then analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann Whitney U Test with significance level of α ≤ 0.05. Result and Analysis: The results of this research showed that spouse knowledge in treatment group had significance level of p= 0,003, while in control group was p=0,011, for spouse attitude p=0,002, while in control group was p=0,021, for spouse  action p=0.002, and p= 0,071 in control group. The result of Mann Whitney U test was p = 0.001 of the knowledge, p = 0,000 of the attitude and action. It means there was different in knowledge, attitude and action of sexual activity between treatment and control groups. Discussion and recommendation: It can be concluded that there are significant effects of spouse counseling about sexual activity of women menopause to improve spouse’s knowledge, attitude and action of sexual activity.
