Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to know the correlation between Social Intelligence and Conflict Strategies of Student in Middle level of Seminary St. Vincentius A Paulo Garum Blitar . Social Intelligence means a set of skill giving us probability to be effective in managing social interaction. Conflict strategies in this research are consisted of: turtle style, shark style, teddy bear style, fox style and owl style. The sampling of research was all Seminary student of Garum Blitar . The seminary students were 109 students which all of them are men from age 14-21 years old. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling. Data was collected using two questioners, Social Intelligence scale consisting of 47 item, and Conflict Strategies Scale adapted from David W . Johson (1975). Data was analyzed using Coefficient Contingency (C) with the level of signification 5%, SPPS version 16.0 for windows. The result shows that index KK = 0,479, p = 0,009. It indicates that there is correlation between Social Intelligence and Conflict Strategies. Thus it can be said that social intelligence has contribution to determine the conflict strategies used by somebody.
