Abstract :

Aquaculture of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) has good prospects because of tilapia production in Indonesia increased significantly from year to year. Aquaculture of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is very suitable to be developed in Indonesia, because it can be done in ponds and floating net (KJA) in public waters. Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is easy to breed, fast growing, relatively large body size, disease resistance, easy to adapt to the environment, the price is relatively cheap and has a high nutritional value as a source of animal protein. Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fish considered omnivorous (omnivore), so that it can consume foods such as animal and plant. One of the obstacles encountered in the process of cultivation of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is the high price of raw material feed so need to look for alternative feed ingredients were cheap, qualified and available all the time. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect combined of fermented trash fish and rice bran on food as substitute fish meal to the growth and feed efficiency of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The research was conducted in the Laboratory Animal Feed College of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Airlangga University Surabaya. This study was conducted for 40 days from January 12 January - 21 February 2013. The research method used was experimental with completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications. The treatments used were: 40% fish meal, fermented 0% (control) (P0), 34% fish meal, 6% of fermentation (P1), 28% fish meal, 12% fermented (P2), 22% flour fish, 18% of fermentation (P3), 16% fish meal, 24% fermented (P4). The main parameters measured were the growth and feed efficiency. Parameters measured were supporting water quality. Analysis of data analysis using Varian (ANOVA) and to know the difference between treatments was Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that administration of a combination of fermented trash fish and rice bran to the diet have different effects (p <0.05) on the rate of growth, but did not give a significantly different effect (p> 0.05) on feed efficiency. Best growth in treatment P3 (2.63). Highest feed efficiency obtained in treatment P3 (57.82).
