Abstract :

ABSTRACT Nowadays there is increasing concerning to non-transmitted diseases. From, two out of ten disease leading to death are non communicable diseases. One of them is Diabetes Mellitus, which is non-transmitted diseases, increasing continuously from year to year. Because of these problems, this research is conducted to determine relation between application of 4 pillars of Diabetes Mellitus management anda average of blood sugar levels. Researcher used observational studies, with a cross sectional design. The sample used were patients suffering from Diabetes Mellitus for a long periode. Respondent had got as many as 53 people, interview held by questioner. Data was analyzed by Chi Square to determine the relationship of each variable that studied. The dependent variable is average of blood sugar levels, while the independent variables are education, meal regulation, exercise, medication obedience. The result showed, there is relation between education information and blood sugar levels (p = 0.031). There is relation between meal regulation and average of blood sugar (p = 0.002). There is the relation between exercise and average of blood sugar levels (p = 0.017). The last result showed that there is relation between medication obedience and average of blood sugar levels (p = 0.003). Based on result, researcher concludes there are relationship with average blood sugar. By good education accept, meal regulation, exercise, and medical obedience had effect on stabilize blood sugar and increase quality of life.   Keywords: the four pillars of Diabetes Mellitus management, blood sugar levels
