Abstract :

ABSTRACTThe maternal mortality rate in East Java Province tended to increase in the year 2006–2011. In 2006, there were 72 per100,000 live births, while in 2011, there were 104.3 per 100,000 live births. Minister of Health in 2007 has launched aprevention of obstetric complications program called P4K in order to improve the safe birthing. This research objective isan evaluation and design of the research is descriptive. Evaluation is done by comparing the attributes surveillance. Datawas collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. P4K assessment In Health Centers Kaliwates in Januaryto April 2013 based on the attributes of surveillance showed that the level of simplicity, timeliness, and stability data isgood, but the level of fl exibility, representativeness, sensitivity, and acceptability of the data is still low. In Health CentersKaliwates there were only two working group that still running, has ambulance, data collection and tagging, while theworking group that not running, has blood transfusion and Tabulin caused by a lack of resources to participate in theseactivities. Suggestions offered is planning a more mature program adapted, making Standard Operational Procedure(SOP) P4K, holding of monitoring activities and periodic program evaluation and routine, making socialization andtraining P4K.
