Abstract :

Drugs is a major threat because it has the effect of dependence that makes addicts can not be stoped from the continuous use of the drug. Medical rehabilitation facility for addicts only be to stabilize the body against the effects of dependence. The success of rehabilitation depends on the medical and social rehabilitation of the role of the environment around, so that addicts have a high motivation to complete therapy. The purpose of this study is to look at the role of family relationships and the role of communities recovering addict on the motivation for the users of syringe. The study was an observational study with cross sectional design. Sampling was purposive sampling with a sample size of 34 respondents. The results showed only 14 respondents who have a high motivation to recover. The role of the family is not related to the level of motivation to recover while the addict community roles related to the level of motivation to recover. The conclusion of this study, the need for cross-sectoral cooperation between the government and NGOs to create a rehabilitation center in Surabaya, so as to create a conducive environment for the healing process of injecting drug users.
