Abstract :

The purpose of this research’s to determine the effect of the ethanol extract Tree marigold (Tithonia diversifolia (Hemls.) A. Gray) leaves in diameter of the inhibitory zone against Candida albicans, to determine the minimum concentration of the ethanol extract Tree Marigold (Tithonia diversifolia (Hemsl.) A. Gray) leaves which could start inhibit the growth of Candida albicans and to determine the maximum dosage of extract. The research has been done on March – May 2017 at Department of Veterinary Basic Medicine and department of Veterinary Microbiology Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Universitas Airlangga Surabaya. This research used 12 treatments consist of P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, P8, P9, P10, P0+, P0- each treatment’s based on the extract dose 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 100%, and controls (P0+ for ketoconazole and P0– for DMSO1%). The method used in this research’s paper disk diffusion method. The data were collected as diameter inhibition zone. The data’s analyzed by One Way Anova followed by Duncan Test. This research showed that there the minimum concentration which could inhibit the growth of Candida albicans was at 50% concentration of ethanol extract Tree Marigold’s leaves and the maximum dosage of extract’s at 90% concentration.
