Prevalence and degree of gastrointestinal helminth infections in cervus timorensis (blainville 1822) (timor deer) and axis-axis (exrl 1788) (axis deer) in the pendopo tulungagung

Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine prevalence and degree of gastrointestinal helminth infections in timor deer and axis deer in the Pendopo Tulungagung. The research was conducted in June-July 2014 with 24 faecal samples, and were analyzed the samples at the Departement of Parasitology Veterinary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Airlangga. On examination it was found some kinds of worm eggs, which are: Bunostomum spp., Oesophagostomum spp. and Cooperia spp. The results of the study showed prevalence of gastrointestinal worms of 29,17 %.In the calculation of worms eggs per gram feces obtained the number of worms that infect the eggs ranges from 0-500 and relatively mild degree of infection. The results of the analysis used relative risk, timor deer and axis deer have the same opportunity for a positive outcome of gastrointestinal helminth infections, and Mann-Whitney U test showed no significant differences degree of gastrointestinal helminth infection of timor deer and axis deer (p>0,05).
