Abstract :
The escalating oil price seems unavoidable in every Indonesian government order as a consequence of the increasing oil price in the global market. However each government seems to be more in favor to adjust the budget on energy subsidies rather than to review its energy policy to ensure the sustainability of energy resources both depletable and renewable. The aim of this paper is to describe the various energy policies adopted in Malaysia as well as Germany. Malaysia is chosen as it has similar characteristics with that of Indonesia as developing countries and has great natural resources, while Germany is chosen as this country has less natural resources and does not have any oil company.
