Abstract :

Successful flood mitigation performed by the Czech Republic became an important lesson for Indonesia. In contrast to the Czech's "friendly" with the flood, the public in Indonesia it is always difficult to deal with. This paper is going to map the flood mitigation conducted by elements in society. By focusing attention on the organization of non-governmental organizations, this paper suggests that cooperation between them is not always consistent, there is a difference of opinion even different activities. Background values, ideologies, and interests of different led to various responses, roles, and strategies. This paper not only explores the phenomenon of flooding in the city of Prague in particular, but also analyze the response, roles, and strategies undertaken by environmental NGOs using actor-based approach.
