Abstract :

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to gain insight about the library anxiety by the students who are come into the library also the effect of enxiety to the library mission in information dissemination. This research methodology is descriptive survey methodology. The primary data is collected by quisionaire dissemination and field observation. Number of quisionaire that has been spread was 200 quisionaires. Library anxiety is an unpleasant feeling or emotional state with physiological and concomitants behavioural, which comes to the fore in library settings. Typically, library-anxious students experience negative emotions, including ruminations, tension, fear, and mental disorganization, which prevent them from using the library effectively. Library anxiety is multidimensional phenomenon that consists of Barriers with staff, Affective barriers, Comfort with the library, Knowledge of the library, Mechanical barriers. This negative feeling is affect to their library behaviors. They become not focus to their main interest. That’s why user did not use the library in optimum way. Acoording to the data, librarian data barrier is the biggest problem for respondent about 67,`s followed by comfort with the library and collection management with 56,57%. The next data is mechanical barrier about 55,05%. Mechanical barrier is in fourth place with 51,52% and the lowest is knowledge of library barrier with 40,40%.
