Abstract :

The aimed of this study was to find out of the correlations between family social support with self esteem in patient who have post-stroke. Family social support theory by Sarafino (1998) and Self esteem theory by Minchinton (1993) were used as the references for this study. This study was conducted on 30 subject who have the stroke. The sampling technique which used in this research was purposive random sampling. A questionnaire in the form of scale about Family Social Support by Nina (2009) was used as a data collections tool, while questionnaire in the form of scale by Idham (2011) was used as an instrument to measure self esteem.The reliability score of Family social support scale 0.766. The reliability score of Self esteem scale 0.742. Data analysis was performed with Spearman’s Rank technique using SPSS 21 for Windows. Based on data analysis which conducted, this study concluded that there was a significant correlationts between family social support and self esteem in patient who have post-stroke. The results showed a significance value (p) 0.002.
