Abstract :

The aim of this study is to describe how the formation of achievement motivation in students who come from economically disadvantaged families. Achievement motivation in this study involved a need to accomplish something difficult, to master, manipulate, or rapidly an as independently as possible. To ovwecome obstacles and attain high standart. To excel one's self. To rivals and surpass others. To increas organized phisical objects, human being, or ideas. To do this as regard by the succesful exercise of talent. This study applied a qualitative approach with case study methode. The subjects of this study are university student who have high achievement in collage. The number of subject in this study were three people. How to obtain the subjects of this study carried out by purposive technique to obtain representative with the topic. Then it is analyzed by coding verbatim derived from interview transcript. The result of this study show that There are two factors that influence the achievement motivation. The extrinsic factors and the intrinsic factors. The extrinsic factors include family, friends, and the school environemnt. The intrincis faktors include need for achievement, the fear of failure, value, self-efficcacy. The achievement motivation in the subjeck have been appeared since they are an elementary students and involve those two factors.
