Abstract :

This study aims to determine whether family support can affect the psychological well-being in retirement. The research subject is a retired Semen Gresik, domiciled in Gresik, aged over 55 years.In this study, variable x that is family support using the theory of Smet (1994) and variable Y that is psychological well-being using the theory of Ryff (1989). The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. To test the quality of themeasuring instrument used to test the validity of the content on professional judgment and SPSS 16.0 for Windows and test reliability with Chronbach Alpha technique. Questionnaires family support, after the first round has a reliability coefficient of 0.818, psychological well-being scale has a reliability coefficient of 0.781. Data analysis is conducted with the statistical technique of regression analysis by using SPSS statistical program version 16.Based on the result of data analysis, obtain value F table > F so that the regression equation is not acceptable. With the result can be conclude that there’s no effect family support to psychological well-being on retirement.
