Abstract :

The aimed of this study was to find out the influence of perfectionism on academic procrastination in the accelerated class student. Perfectionism theory by Hill, Huelsman, Furr, Vicente & Kennedy (2004) and academic procrastination theory by Tuckman (1991) were used as the reference for this study. This study was conducted on 24 students in class XI who follow the program accelerated class in SMAN 5 Surabaya. The sampling technique used was jenuh sampling. The Perfectionism Inventory (PI) scale by Huelsman, Furr, Vicente & Kennedy (2004) was used to find out the perfectionism was modified by Nanang Rosadi (2012) and academic procrastination scaleaccording to Tuckman (1991) theory. The reliability score of The Perfectionism Inventory (PI) scale was 0,913 and the reliability score of academic procrastination was 0,913. Data analysis was performed with regression analysis technique using SPSS 16.0 for windows. The result showed there is an influence of perfectionism on academic procrastination with F value 4,815, significance value 0,039, R value 0,424 and R square 0,18. The formula of this regression analysis is Y = 153,677 – 0,416 X, it means perfectionism have a negative correlation with academic procrastination.
