Improving english ability via television

      Abstract :

      People learn a foreign/second language via many different kinds of media. One of the media, discussed in this article, is television. Tv is one of the advantageous media to learn English as a foreign/second language in Indonesian. Some of the TV channels in Indonesian broadcast their programs is English, such as : The World News, serial Film, Singe Out, and the Musical Show. In this case, young and adult learnes of English may take advantage of these programs. By doing this, the learnes may enrich their vocabulary. Basides, they learn non-verbal language, pronunciation, stress, and intonation in English spoken either by native or no-native speakers of English. Learning English via TV needs no extra money because learners do not have to leave the house.
