Abstract :

:  Residential is an important  part in human’s life because it is a reflection  of human’s personality  and social status  that influence health status.  Living building must  have some criteria like comfort, aesthetic, and secure. Just like a house, penitentiary  class  IIA of Sidoarjo has prisoners who want a living building like their own house that can give a secure and comfort  sense. Recently, facilities in jail couldn’t meet the minimum  standard  which is requirement of health standard. The objective of this study was to identify the correlation between indoor air quality and prisoners complaints at county  jail Sidoarjo.  The research was  using  analytic descriptive with cross-sectional approach. Data consisted of primary and secondary data which were collected by observation, interview, measurement, and document investigation from relevant institution. Sample was 120 people and was taken using  cluster  random  sampling. The result showed that thing that correlated with prisoners complaint was the temperature in the room. It is suggested that all prisoners should keep the environment clean  and they should use  the ventilation well.   Keywords: physical, chemical, and microbiological qualities, people complaints
