Abstract :
On the implementation of a resource center, village libraries face the challenge of meeting the needs of the librarian. Village library is an information institution at the village level. Library belongs to the community, for the community, from the community to meet the information needs of the surrounding community and the desire to know the will of society and to develop initiative and creativity. Efforts to continue to attract people that take advantage of the village library to find out the perception of the librarian at villages library in Sidoarjo. This study using 4 of 6 of the National Standard Village Libraries regard to the Village Library to find out the perceptions of rural libraries namely infrastructure, collections, services and human resources. The theory used in this study based on Bimo Walgito’s that states there are 4 stage process : (1) First Stage is the stage known as a physical process, (2) Second stage is the stage known physiological processes, (3) Phase the third stage is known as psychological processes, (4) the fourth stage is the result obtained from the perception that is capable of eliciting a response to behaviors. Sampling technique using non-probability sampling by using purposive sampling and the method used descriptive quantitative method. Librarian perceive infrastructure by providing positive responses that are influenced by the needs and desires in the form of social demographic characteristics by gender and education . Meanwhile, the benefits obtained in the library collection of villages considered useful by 80 % and positive perception to the library collection. Then, librarians are satisfied with village library services show with a percentage of 94.5 % and perceived positive. Librarian is perceiving human resource village library positively show with the percentage of 100 %
