Abstract :

Betta splendens fish is a fish that has many forms (Polimorphisme), such as crown tail type, full tail and slayer type with long fins and colorful. The beauty of fin shape and color will determine the value of aesthetic and commercial value of ornamental fish Betta splendens. Color rendition on the type of fish is influenced by several factors : sex, gonad maturity genetic and geographical factors. The purpose of this Practice of Field Work is to know the process and the effect of adding microalgae Spirulina platensis into the feed to the color quality of betta fish's body and to know the analysis of this business. Field Work Practice was held at Biotech Agro Indonesia, Jombang district on January 24 until February 24, 2011. The work method in this Field Work Practice was descriptive method by techniques of collection data include primary and secondary data. Collection of data was done by observation, interview, active participation, and literature study. One effort to improve the quality of fish betta color is to add the microalgae Spirulina platensis powder into feed pellets. Microalgae Spirulina platensis has a content of phycocyanin pigment cells, chlorofil and carotenoids that may affect the color of the fish scales. The process of improving the quality of color betta fish can be done by adding 1% powder Spirulina platensis in feed pellets and feed the diberrikan dose is 3-5% of body weight betta fish with feeding frequency of two times each day. The addition of microalgae Spirulina platensis influential in improving the quality of color betta fish from the initial score from c0m50 to c0m80 (improved color quality of three level).
