Abstract :

  The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the combination of dried sludge worms (Tubifex sp.) and Chlorella sp. powder as feed supplement to the growth and protein retention of seed milkfish (Chanos Chanos). The research method used was experimental with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six  treatments  and  four  replications. The  treatments used were  (A) pellet +  feed supplements  (dried  Tubifex  sp.  100%),  (B)  pellet  +  feed  supplements  (dried Tubifex  sp.  75%  +  Chlorella  sp.  powder  25%),  (C)  pellet  +  feed  supplements (dried  Tubifex  sp.  50%  +  Chlorella  sp.  powder  50%),  (D)  pellet  +  feed supplements  (dried  Tubifex  sp. 25%  + Chlorella  sp.  powder  75%),  (E)  pellet  + feed  supplement  (Chlorella  sp. powder 100%)  and  (F) pellets  as  a  control. The main  parameters  observed  are  the  growth  and  protein  retention.  Supporting  the observed  parameter  is  the  water  quality.  Analysis  of  data  using  Analysis  of Variance (Anova) and to know the difference between the treatment done Duncan Multiple range test.    The  results  showed  that  administration  of  a  combination  of  dried  sludge worms  (Tubifex  sp.)  and Chlorella  sp.  powder  as  feed  supplement  to  influence significantly  different  (p<0.05)  against  the  retention  of  the  protein  but  not significantly  different  to  the  growth  of  seed  fish  (p>  0.05).  the  best  protein retention  in  treatment  D(57.69%),  then  successively  followed  by  treatment A(46.55%), B(45.75%), C(31.34%), E(31.16% ) and F(6.98%). Water quality is a medium maintenance milkfish temperature of 26 - 28ºC, salinity 15-18 ppt, pH 8, dissolved oxygen 5 - 8 mg/l and ammonia from 0 mg/l.
