Abstract :
Live feed is an essential component for fish, especially larvae. That is, the survival of larvae depends on the amount of natural food available (Hutabarat and Evans, 1986). This is because the live feed supply must be considered in an effort to get the quality and high survival rate for larvae. One type of natural food is much cultivated mainly on hatchery fish are Nannochloropsis oculata (Hastuti et al., 1995). Fay (1983) in Handayani (2003) explains that N is a basic element of a very influential on the growth of Nannochloropsis oculata. The use of growth hormones to increase growth of natural feed. One form is the application of plant growth regulators ie adding 2.4-Dichlorophenoxyaceticacid. The study was conducted to determine the concentration of plant growth regulators (2.4-Dichlorophenoxyaceticacid) that can best deliver the highest growth of Nannochloropsis oculata. The method used in this study is a research experiment using Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), consisting of 8 treatments with 3 replications. Each treatment was given concentration of plant growth regulators (2.4-Dichlorophenoxyaceticacid) that is 2 ml, 3 ml, 4 ml, 5 ml, 6 ml, 7 ml, 8 ml and control with fertilizer Walne 1 ml. The parameters observed were cell density Nannochloropsis oculata. The results showed that administration of plant growth regulators (2.4-Dichlorophenoxyaceticacid) with different concentrations gave significant effect (P<0.05) on the growth of Nannochloropsis oculata. Concentration that produces the highest cell density obtained in treatment D (5 ml) is 4.800.000 cells/ml.
