Abstract :

Milkfish farming is a commodity which is consumed reaches 6 millions in Indonesia. Production of fish in various sizes have not been able to meet market demands due to shortage of as many as 13 200 head / year. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of additional feeding (feed supplement) from the combination of earthworm flour (L.rubellus) and Spirulina platensis meal on growth and protein retention of fish seed (C.chanos). The research method is experimental with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments and four replications. The treatment used in this study are: A) providing pellets 100%, B) pellets + earthworm 100%, C) pellets + S. platensis 100%, D) pellets + supplement feed (an earthworm flour 25% + S. platensis flour 75%), E) pellets + supplement  feed (an earthworm flour 50% + S. platensis flour 50%), F) pellet + supplement feed (an earthworm flour 75% + S. platensis flour 25%). The main parameters observed is the growth and protein retention. Supporting the observed parameter is the quality of water. Data analysis using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and to know the difference between the treatments performed Duncan's Multiple range test. The results showed that administration of additional feeding (feed supplement) of earthworms flour 100% to influence significantly different (p <0.05) on the growth and protein retention of milkfish seed and an additional feeding (feed supplement) in the form of flour S.platensis significantly different to the ratio of absolute length growth (p <0.05). Water quality maintenance medium milkfish seed is the temperature range between 26-29oC, 7-8 pH, dissolved oxygen 5-8 mg / L, and salinity of 18 ppt.
