Difference of anemia prevalence and finess between female adolescent of islamic boardings school in coastal area and non coastal area

Abstract :

This Research was aimed to know the difference of anemia prevalence and fitness between female adolescent of Islamic boarding school in the coastal area and non coastal area. This research was using comparison study which its data collecting conducted by cross sectional. Research sample was female adolescents with the following criteria: age of 12-18 years old, live in the Islamic boarding school and at the time of research was not in a state of pain or menstruation. The sample size was 41 respondents of each region of coastal area and non coastal area. While the sampling technique was systematic random sampling. The research variables was physical activity, the length of rest time, social cultural factor, pattern of consumption, supplement consumption, nutrition consumption, nutritional status, characteristics of Islamic boarding school, anemia status and fitness status. Test result using chi-square test and simple logistic regression test, shows that there is difference of anemia status of female adolescent between Islamic boarding school in the coastal area and non coastal area. But, test result using Mann-Whitney test and simple ordinal regression test, shows that there is no difference of fitness status of female adolescent between Islamic boarding school in the coastal area and non coastal area. While result of multiple ordinal regression tests shows that there is difference of fitness status of female adolescent between Islamic boarding school in the coastal area and non coastal area
