Abstract :
Physical excercise could increase bone density because there is osteogenesis as a adapatation respons. This effect is role of Insulin like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) hormone that a growth hormone dependent polypeptides. These polypeptides are produced both systemically (as endocrine productin) and localy as paracirine or autocrine. Endocrine production of IGF-I increase by physical excercise. The increasing this hormone will increase growth hormone (GH) level, and will be bounded by GH receptor in liver. Growth hormone-receptor bounding will stimulate IGF-1 production signals. While the paracrine production of IGF-1 increased by mechanical strain due to strain on the bone will stimulate the formation of prostaglandins as a precursor to IGF-1. The IGF-1 is bound by its receptor and then will produce a series of tranduksi signal to the nucleus resulting in cell proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts. The role of osteoblast cells is to synthesize matrix, bone collagen and stimulate replication of cells derived osteoblasts is osteosit. This will increase bone density
