Abstract :

Development contains the wide meaning as a multidimensional process including important changes in social structure, attitude of society and national institutes and also local as well as economic growth acceleration, social-economic gap reduction, and poverty eradication. So that, it has to be characterized by the community driven with the goals and targets, which can really measured not only in physical, but also socially. Reorientation in the development approach and strategies is needed in order to meet the purposes of the development programs in the era of autonomy. Asset based community development is an approach to community-based development, based on the principles of: Appreciating and mobilizing individual and community talents, skills and assets (rather than focusing on problems and needs), Community-driven development rather than development driven by external agencies.
