Abstract :

Epicuticular and internal hydrocarbons in the adult housefly, Musca domestica increased dramatically in relation to sexual maturation. Internal hydrocarbons found in hemolymph, ovaries, digestive tract, fat body and carcas. The female housefly pheromone (Z)-9-tricosene that almost contain hydrocarbon, presence in larger amount  in hemolymph and carcas than other tissue. The amount of (Z)-9-tricosene in female housefly increase  from day-2 until day-6 and compensated by a concomitant decrease in amount of (Z)-9-heptacosene. The C23 epoxide and ketone only appear in female after inducing of (Z)-9-tricosene production, and are only abundant in epicuticular. In female M. domestica’s fractination with SDS-PAGE 12 %, it has been found   six     protein    bands,   each    of  them  was 70,3 kDa; 63 kDa; 52,6 kDa; 30 kDa; 25,2  kDa  and  22,7 kDa. Protein  band   70,3 kDa  might  be a pheromone sex of  female  M. domestica.
