Abstract :
Thesis entitled "Principles of Persuasion Manners in Discourse on Hospitality FrontOffice in Surabaya" is intended to describe the principles of the existing manners inresearch object and describe the discourse of persuasion used by the front office to theguest. This study uses the theory of politeness principle put forward by Leech andpersuasion discourse Newcomb. Raised by this research method used is descriptivequalitative method which is divided into three stages: data collection methods, dataanalysis methods, methods of exposure data results. The results of this study found theuse of compliance and violation of the principle of decorum in discourse persuasiondone by the Front Office for hotel guests it is seen in the form of speech made by theFront Office Guests tend to affect the emotional approach through principles of goodmanners.
