Abstract :

Propriety in the language is very important to be done by any people when communicating. Incommunication, norms of behavior that seem verbal and nonverbal behavior. Verbal behaviorin an imperative function for instance, looks at how speakers express command or prohibitionnecessary to do something to talk, while the nonverbal behavior of the form of expression looks,body gestures, attitudes or behavior that supports the disclosure of one's personality. Issues tobe discussed in this study is how the form of verbal language and form of civility nonverballanguage in social interaction in the Islamic Boarding School An-Najiyah Surabaya and whatfactors are behind the politeness language in social interaction in the Islamic Boarding SchoolAn-Najiyah Surabaya. The study also aims to describe the picture of politeness form of verballanguage and form of nonverbal language politeness in social interaction An Islamic BoardingSchool An- Najiyah Surabaya and whether the factors underlying the politeness language insocial interaction in the Islamic Boarding School An-Najiyah Surabaya.
