Abstract :

This article is discussing about variations in teenage language called slang language. Thislanguage shifting function of the secret language became the lingua franca teenager. Thepurpose of this study was described the variations in the language of Putih Abu-Abu soapopera. It means that the diversity of the language were used in Putih Abu-Abu soap operawhen did a social interaction diversities in every shcool scene of the opera. The methodswere used in this researchis descriptive qualitative. Descriptive qualitative itself isaresearch method based on the quality of the facts, so the resulting data is what it is. Thismethod is divided into three stages of strategy: methods of collection, analysis method, andthe results of data analysis presentation method. In this study shows that language varietyin adolescents grouped based on language variation form and meaning. Form variationlanguage based on category greeting words,verbs, adjectives, acronyms, andabbreviations. This study shows that adolescents language variation were grouped by formand meaning itself. The greeting word language comes from the influence of the Javalanguage, Jakarta dialect, and foreign language. On verbs, adjectives, acronyms andabbreviations, contained decoding of words, adding prefixes, transformation of sound, theaddition of the suffix, reversing sounds, and others. Language adolescent variation is alsomotivated by several factors, one of which is the social factor. It can determine thevariation of the language for someone. Influence from Javanese culture, foreign culture,social media, and technology are also factors that can affect and make the variety languagegrows faster. Finally, this study is expected to provide a broad insight to the communitythat there are various forms of language variation that has not been recognized by thepeople who applied by using examples of adolescent language variation in every soapopera.
