Abstract :

Artikel ini mengkaji tentang perjalanan Resimen Cakrabirawa, yakni kesatuan pengamanan Presiden Republik Indonesia yang terbentuk sebelum adanya Pasukan Pengamanan Presiden atau Paspampres. Resimen Cakrabirawa dibentuk tepatnya pada tanggal 6 Juni 1962, setelah terjadi berbagai peristiwa percobaan pembunuhan terhadap Presiden Sukarno. Dalam perjalanan sejarahnya, resimen tersebut  mendapatkan penilaian atau stigma negatif dalam sejarah dan masyarakat Indonesia. Banyak pihak menuduh resimen tersebut terlibat dalam peristiwa 30 September 1965. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak semua dari anggota Resimen Cakrabirawa terlibat peristiwa penculikan para jenderal pada 30 September 1965.      This paper is a history study examines the journey of Cakrabirawa Regiment, a unit securing the President of the Republic of Indonesia prior to the Presidential Guard or Paspampres as we know it today. Cakrabirawa Regiment was formed after the various events of the attempted murder of President Sukarno. Was formed on June 6, 1962, the Regiment Cakrabirawa have a duty to protect the president and his family as well as other tasks that support the main task. Regiment Cakrabirawa get views and negative accusations in the eyes of history and society due to their involvement in events of September 30, 1965. From the results of this study using historical methods indicate that not all of the members of the Regiment Cakrabirawa involved the kidnapping of the generals on September 30, 1965, but only one company under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Untung.
