Abstract :

ABSTRACT Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI), especially pneumonia remains a major cause of morbidity diseases of infants and toddlers. Pneumonia causes 4 million deaths of children under five in the world, and this is 30% of all deaths there. In developing countries pneumonia is the leading cause of death. To reduce infant mortality WHO makes intregated strategy Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) in Indonesia is better known as the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI). Strategy reduced mortality by three main components: improving skills of health workers, improving health systems support, and enhance the ability of the family and society. This study aims to determine how the implementation of IMCI in health centers and health office management support factors on the implementation of IMCI. This is a descriptive study with direct observation to determine the flow and integration services. Compliance officer assessed by comparing the actions taken by the officers checklist based IMCI chart books. Interviews and supporting documents in order tolking the support from the Department of Health Management Lumajang to IMCI implementation. The results showed that the flow of services in one health center in accordance with the pattern has not yet integrated IMCI and services delivered on a sick toddler. While compliance with the standards listed in one of the health centers both at 85%, while others recorded less health center that is < 60%. IMCI implementation of a lack of support from the Department of Health both the adequacy of facilities and infrastructure and supervision activities that still have to be improved.
